Attention all of you “Baton Rouge Spirit Alums”: You will surely enjoy watching Lois Bolin’s terrific interview on Fox this week. Spirit of ’45 celebrates the end of World War II. It also celebrates the values of those soldiers and homefront workers who went on to rebuild America.

Lois has been spearheading Spirit of ’45 activities in the state of Florida, including developing an annual program in Naples that involves multiple community partners, including the local history museum, civic groups, veterans organizations, senior living communities and elected officials.   She also secured a proclamation from Florida’s Governor Rick Scott supporting Spirit of ’45 Day throughout the Sunshine State

Lois was one of the community leaders who gathered at the USS Kidd in Baton Rouge, LA earlier this year to share ideas for assuring the future of Spirit of ’45 Day.

In addition to her efforts to promote public awareness and participation in Florida, Lois will be helping develop ways for more community museums, historical societies and heritage associations take advantage of this new national day of remembrance to strengthen their core mission, working with groups like the American Association of State and Local History.
